French Breakfast Puffs

Ingredients

Puffs

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup melted butter

Cinnamon-Sugar

  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Directions

  1. In a bowl, stir together flour, sugar, baking powder, nutmeg and salt.
  2. In another bowl combine beaten egg, milk and butter. Add to flour mixture, stirring until just moistened.
  3. Lightly grease muffin cups or line with paper cups; fill 2/3 full.
  4. bake in 350° oven for 20 to 25 minutes or till golden.
  5. Immediately dip tops into melted butter then into sugar cinnamon mixture.
