Dumplings

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups Flour
  • 1 tablespoon Crisco
  • 1 3/4 tablespoon Baking Powder
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • ~3/4 cup COLD Water
  • 2 quarts chicken broth

Instructions

  1. cut Crisco into flour
  2. add water to pie dough consistency
  3. cut into squares
  4. drop into boiling broth at bubbles
  5. simmer for 1 hour with lid on

  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 tbsp Crisco
  • 1 tbsp + 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • Water to soften dough (~1/2 cup)

Cook in heavy pot, 3/4 full of liquid (chicken broth) low heat, ~ 1 hour
